Weddings

The music you select for your celebration sets the mood and tone for your ceremony. Kerry will provide an extensive repertoire and can offer suggestions if you are not sure what music you would like. It is helpful to have an idea of who will be in the processional and the order of your ceremony before selecting your wedding music. It is also helpful to meet with your minister/officiant before discussing the music selections with Kerry.

Prelude

The prelude is the background music played prior to the wedding. This is the backdrop to the arrival and seating of your guests. Kerry usually begins playing 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony, depending on the location and the number of guests. The prelude sets the tone for the rest of your ceremony, so it should reflect the style of your wedding. Kerry has a variety of light classical and traditional music and will work with you to arrange the musical program.

Processional

Kerry will ask you to choose several songs for the processional:

Processional Suggestions:

It is acceptable to also select a piece that may be meaningful to you. For example, a bride may choose Edelweiss because her father sang it to her as a little girl.

Ceremony

Depending upon the order of service, you may wish to have one or two special selections played during the ceremony. This might be a solo of a favorite song, selected background music for the lighting of the unity candle, or it might be a meditative piece after a prayer. Shorter services may not require any music during the ceremony.

Recessional

The recessional is played right after the minister/officiant introduces the new couple and they walk up the aisle together, followed by the wedding party. The recessional is joyful and upbeat, a celebration of the wedding that has just taken place.
